Guangzhou’s Nansha offers up to 10 million RMB in subsidies to top talent


Guangzhou’s Nansha District, part of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, is offering a subsidy of up to 10 million yuan and ten-years’ free accommodation in a 200 square-meter apartment to top-flight talent relocating in the area.

This is in accordance with the latest policy issued on March 26th. As the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Nansha is in need of top talent for key industries, such as finance, modern services, shipping and logistics, as well as leading figures in the fields of education and biomedicine.

To be categorised as ‘top-flight talent’ The individual should be a: Nobel Prize Winner, winner of internationally recognised top science or technology awards, an academic of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering or of other such institutions, or a top innovator or entrepreneur in the province.

Such individuals can also enjoy preferential policies on housing. If they wish to buy a home in Nansha, they can obtain an additional subsidy of up to 500,000 RMB, or alternatively can in fact apply to rent a 200 square-meter apartment for free for up to ten years. If they stay at work in the district for ten years and become a Nansha resident, they will automatically become the house’s owner for free.

Moreover, these individuals are eligible for a talent card, allowing them to enjoy priority treatment in medical care, financial services, business services, children’s education, home insurance and so on.

At the same time, Nansha is warmly welcoming all highly educated individuals to the district, and is providing further housing subsidies according to the applicant’s degree level. Those with bachelor’s degrees are eligible for 20,000 yuan, master’s degree holders 40,000 yuan and finally those with doctoral degrees 60,000 yuan.
