Human Resources: China should slow wage growth

Vice Minister of Human Resources Xin Changxing says China should slow the country's pace of wage increases in order to maintain competitiveness.

Official data shows that by the end of June China's unemployment rate in urban areas stood at around 4 percent. That was up slightly from the end of March.

Xin said the unemployment figure was based on data collected from the labour market and reflects the real situation. He said the steel and coal sectors might cut 800 thousand jobs this year.
