FormallyestablishedinJune2022,theHongKongUniversityofScienceandTechnology(Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ))isacooperatively-runhighereducationinstitutionbetweentheChinesemainlandandtheHongKongSpecialAdministrativeRegion.HKUST(GZ)hasobtainedapprovalfromtheMinistryofEducation(MoE)andbecomethefirstlegally-independenteducationalinstitutionco-establishedbytheMainlandandHongKongsincetheannouncementandimplementationofthe“OutlineDevelopmentPlanfortheGuangdong-HongKong-MacaoGreaterBayArea”andthe“OverallPlanforDeepeningGloballyOrientedComprehensiveCo-operationamongstGuangdong,HongKongandMacaoinNanshaofGuangzhou”.Withaspiritofpioneeringinnovation,HKUST(GZ)chartsnewterritoriesincross-disciplinaryeducationandexploresnewfrontiersinpedagogies,aimingtoserveasarolemodelofthemainland-HongKongintegratededucationaldevelopmentandbecomeaworld-famoushigh-leveluniversity,endeavoringtonurturefuture-oriented,high-levelandinnovativetalents.
HKUST(GZ)comprisesfourHubs,namelyFunctionHub,InformationHub,SystemsHub,SocietyHubandoffers15postgraduatedegrees.Theadmissionofundergraduatestudentswillbeginin2023,withthefirstbatchofprogramscoveringartificialintelligence,datascienceandbigdatatechnology.
TheEarthandEnvironmentalSystemsResearchFacility(EESRF)ofHKUST(GZ)isseekingamotivatedandexperiencedtalenttomanagethefacility.EESRFisdesignedtoperformfrontierresearchinearthsciences,specificallyinmarinescience,atmosphericscienceandearthsurfaceprocesses.Cross-disciplinarystudiesinphysicaloceanography,marinebiogeochemistry,surfaceprocessesinriverbasinsarebeingdeveloped,togetherwithatmosphere-oceancouplingclimatedynamics,ocean-atmosphere-landinteraction,andearthsystemsimulationstoimprovecommunityunderstandingoftheearthandenvironmentalsystems.
